LASIK / Glass Removal Surgeries at Refracto
Femto Lasik or Intralase is a vision correction procedure that helps patients to see without glasses of contact lenses after the surgery. Femto Lasik is currently one of the most advanced type of Lasik surgery which does not use any cutting blade on cornea. The procedure is painless and safe.
The safety of the procedure is very high and offers rapid recovery. You can go home after 2 hours of the procedure.
Lasik – Customized
After a thorough reading of your entire optical system (eye) using a technology called Wave front which measures the way light passes through your eye and assesses the visual characteristics of eye. Our surgeon later customizes suitable treatment plan for you and performs LASIK for precise outcomes
Lasik – Standard
According to your current glass prescription, a corneal (eye surface) study will be performed and the amount of tissue to be removed will be determined.
A corneal flap is created using a thin blade called Micro keratome and Excimer laser will be passed to ablate the tissue to be removed. The flap will be later replaced.
This is a 10 minutes procedure and during which Excimer laser is used for less than 1 minute to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and also astigmatism.
The flap gets completely healed within 2 days through collagen healing. The procedure is completely safe
Trans PRK is an all laser technique for treating short-sightedness (Myopia) and hyperopia in young patients
Treatment is done without touching cornea and the outcomes are excellent. This is a no flap no blade technique with very minimal amount of corneal ablation using laser.
This procedure is ideal for sports persons and for the people having risk of eye injury at their jobs
PRK – Photorefractive Keratectomy uses the Excimer laser to reshape the curvature of cornea for patients with nearsightedness and astigmatism. After preparing for the surgery, anesthetic drops are used and laser is used to ablate the cornea according to the treatment plan, the ablated tissue is removed by surgeon using an alcohol swab.
PRK is also a no flap – no blade technique and best suitable for patients with thinner cornea and also for patients who are into sports and vocations where corneal flap is contraindicated.
